I like the Women's Murder Club, but I have just started reading some of Alex Cross's series by Patterson, and they are good, too. Really violent, though.

Kiss the Girls and one or two others have been made into movies. Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross. Movies are good also.
If you haven't read John Sandford's "Prey" series, do so. They are good. You should read them in order, though, as he develops his character over the series.
