You know what's so puzzling to me? When Lott left I thought Frist was a better choice because I thought as a heart surgeon he would have had more moxie. He is the first surgeon I have ever heard of who is wishy-washy.
I don't know that Lott would have done a better job. Given his performance with the first two years of President Bush's administration (power sharing, missing the Jeffords defection) I am not so sure about him, either.
I am so disgusted with the Senate right now that I can't make a decent judgement about any of them.
Ha! I made coffee cakes yesterday for Sunday and got them in the freezer as fast as I could. When hubby came home he said, "I smell coffee cake. Where is it?" Told him they were hiding and to not even think about looking for them!
I'm disgruntaled, too. Obviously.
I don't necessarily think Lott would have done a better job, either. But I've heard enough stories about his ruthlessness, I have to think those who got off the reservation would have been demoted. That usually shapes them up in a hurry.
Ethicswise, I think Frist is head and shoulders above Lott. But he doesn't seem to be able to make things happen.
I'm headed back to the kitchen shortly to start the Krispie Treat Tree.
That's why they should be elected by AND ANSWERING TO the state legislatures, AS SET UP BY THE FOUNDING FATHERS BUT DESTROYED BY THE SEVENTEENTH AMENDMENT. Instead, they are 'elected' by the IGNORANT, UNINFORMED SHEEPLE that want the government to give them everything. The sheeple already have their representatives in the House.
