Mel Gibson - Terri Schiavo needs you NOW
the Culture of Life | 3/23/05 | MomwithHope

Mel Gibson please use your celebrity NOW.
Lethal force is being used against Terri Schiavo. Please go to Florida and show up in front of the hospice. Reporters will hear any statement from you, just like your character in Ransom. Please beg the President or Gov. Bush to act and take Terri into protective custody by enforcing those supoenas.
This tragic torture of Terri needs even more publicity. Please do this as the politicians seem to not have the b@lls.
We are all praying our hearts out, and my heart tells me you could be a big help. You have already done so much please do everything you can. Thank you!

Come on, Mel Gibson, Jesus, and President Bush really can't do anything about this. It's sad, but pleading to everyone just doesn't seem to being able to accomplish anything. I just hope Terry can go peacefully.

I don't get it. What can an actor do that the President and Congress can't do. Not to be critical, but isn't this glorifying Hollywood? Even if he is one of us.

THE 'VAST LIFE-WING CONSPIRACY' AGAINST 'poor wittuw michael' SCHIAVO [FR Link page]

For someone to believe Michael, one would have to think that everyone is conspiring against him. It's actually a major tin-foil conspiracy to think that her family, the President, Congress, Rush, Hannity, Savage, the Pope, many FReepers, many bloggers, Newsmax, WND, various nurses, various doctors, etc. are conspiring against Michael Schiavo.

Also... large link cluster

I saw Patricia Heaton on Entertainment Tonight last night coming out to support Terri and her parents. It was really a great interview. See Interview w/Patricia Heaton

ET also said, "Other celebrities who have reportedly issued statements in support of the parents include MEL GIBSON, PAT BOONE and singer RANDY TRAVIS."

He could bring even more attention to this travesty. Any one of them could by going down there, Bush, Bush, Frist. People need to see this for what it is.

What more attention is needed? This is already reached a fevered pitch, its been covered for 5-10 years, how much more attention does it need? Its already being crammed down the throats of everyone with a Tv or a subscription to a newspaper. (I have neither) This is a legal issue, and its being solved in the manner in which it's supposed to be solved. Again I hope she goes in a peaceful manner.

"Please beg the President or Gov. Bush to act and take Terri into protective custody by enforcing those supoenas."

That's one idea. Mel is one gutsy dude. But he must be convinced that there is more than just legal minucia going on. Civil disobedience just might get his attention. One lady was reportedly arrested for trying to bring Terri a cup of water. One. What if Mel does that? If he sees a thousand people do it, maybe he'll take notice. But people able to reach Florida have to set the tone. Then maybe Mel or someone else. And then, the left will be begging Jeb to pepper spray people with cups of water in their hands.

"This is a legal issue, and its being solved in the manner in which it's supposed to be solved."

It's evidence that the law needs a major overhaul. Major. Did you hear the gagged witnesses lately? The law is proving itself to be one big joke.

Are rules more important than the right to live?

"Its already being crammed down the throats of everyone with a Tv or a subscription to a newspaper. (I have neither)"

And yet you post on a thread about this story "being crammed" down our throats. If you don't have a TV or a subscription to a newspaper, how do you know its "being crammed down our throats?"

I thought about that as well.

Since he went through so much persecution with "The Passion fo the Christ", he has become important. If nothing else, he could get more Christians involved in the fight.

Has he got that letter?

Bttt!

"For Judgement is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy,
Mercy triumphs over judgement" James 2:13

Judgement administers death, mercy delivers life.
Show Terri mercy and return her to life.

I wish the Pope were healthy right now. I could just see him and Mel Gibson BOTH walking up there, with cups of water in their hands. Now THAT would have been a sight!

FReegards....

Actually I think I can comment, I didnt say I've never seen a TV, I just dont watch it. Believe me I'm not uninformed, I just dont like all the bias trash in the media. My work receives several different national papers which I glance through, I read through the websites (Legitimate not blogs) for news, and I listen to talk radio. But I dont believe anything can be gained by my watching Fox News, Cnn, ABC, CBS, whatever. They are all biased, Fox is no more fair and balanced than CNN they are just geared more towards conservatives while CNN is geared towards libs. So because I dont choose to waste my money on cable does not mean I am uninformed.

Now back to the original thing I posted, I really dont think anything is going to stop this from happening. Terry will die, and that's sad but its going to happen, also my next question is, who is incurring the cost of all the legal fees? The medical expenses?

Unfortunately Terry won't walk, or talk again, and I wish I could say that she would, but it just isnt going to happen, almost every single doctor that has been conferred with has told them with, I dont expect the parents to let go so easily but at some point they need to realize they are punishing their daughter for their own selfishness.

Pat Boone did? God bless him. I actually had e-mailed the Boone family last week asking that they come out in support of Terri, but had not heard anything. He has a severely brain-injured grandson that has made remarkable progress with therapy.
