As a teen threatened with this and called him to “ let’s go “ and he tucked his tail and ran away
I know the type, too. I had a bully on my case in 7th or 8th grade in Ithaca, NY. We had to walk to a local park for PE. He was taunting me on the walk and I finally had enough, so I laid into him with all I could muster. He collapsed like a house of cards and never bothered me again.
