Like family names Beauchamp changed to Beecham and Grynevich changed to Green, DeSantis branch changed to Disantis for a few family members. Heard once Ellis Island staff thought the people saying “Deutch” were saying “Dutch” for Germans. Pennsylvania Dutch origin.
