Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich revealed for “the first time” why he believes Joe Biden might not be the Democratic nominee.
Appearing on Fox News “Hannity” to discuss Biden’s low polling, Gingrich was asked about his stance regarding Vice President Kamala Harris defending Biden.
Gingrich then explained why he thinks there will be a potential change for the Democratic nominee.
He highlighted numerous factors for his stance, including Biden’s “cognitive decline.”
Gingrich then noted there could be a possibility of a “genuine rebellion” in the Democrat Party due to the desire to ditch Biden.
“But I have to say, Sean, tonight really for the first time, I’m beginning to think maybe Biden will not be the nominee,” Gingrich said.
“I say that because of the rate of his cognitive decline, the number of recent examples, where he couldn’t remember what he was saying, or couldn’t remember who he was talking to … at some point there may be a genuine rebellion in the Democratic Party that says we can’t put this guy up this fall, because he’ll be helpless.”
“The NBC News report, the poll they did, was devastating. Almost a day later, CNN had a similar poll. It’s very clear that Biden right now is drifting into Jimmy Carter territory, where people just think he’s not competent,” Gingrich stated.
Hannity then pressed Gingrich on his thoughts regarding possible replacements for Biden, highlighting the possibility of Michelle Obama.
Gingrich responded by listing some options, emphasizing that the issue would be convincing Biden and Jill to step away.
He added that the new polls were a “real warning” to Democrats.
“Kamala Harris could make the argument she should be the replacement,” he said.
“In the left-wing of the Democratic Party that would be fine. The rest of the country would recoil in horror, and she would lose in a landslide,” Gingrich added.

“You know, you could have the governor of California, who you’ve had on to debate with Ron DeSantis. You could have the governor of Michigan or Pennsylvania,” Gingrich continued.
“It’s very hard to imagine Michelle Obama, but I have close friends, who are very smart, who are absolutely convinced that she’s going to be the replacement, because she trumps Kamala Harris in being a black woman on a national ticket,’ he said.
“I would not – until tonight, it just hit me. It’s all coming in, and it made me realize that we really have to think about the possibility that he may just collapse – the plausibility. That’s where the NBC poll and the follow-up CNN poll are a real warning to the Democrats.”
“Remember also, in the NBC poll, the Republicans are now ahead by a significant margin. Which party do you want to have run the Congress?” Gingrich questioned.
“If you’re a democratic operative, you’re looking at a catastrophe at least comparable to 1980 with Ronald Reagan. You begin to think, ‘Well, what do we do to avoid this?’ And the answer can’t involve Joe Biden.”
Similarly, last year, Gingrich warned Republicans the major threat looming in 2024 presidential is former First Lady Michelle Obama, who he believes is showing obvious signs she is about to announce her run for president.
“I hadn’t believed that until I saw her on stage with Bruce Springsteen, and I thought, you know, ‘this is not a person who’s hiding,'” the former House Speaker added.
A national NBC News poll last month states that Biden trailed Trump in various policy issues and physical health.
If Michelle were to be installed as president, she’d be the frontperson for Barak, which many might find acceptable.
But she wouldn’t do well on the campaign trail where she’d have to debate and answer unplanned questions.
And I doubt that she could make us believe she wanted the job.
Jill will be the nominee then...............
Well, he and his friends can project that sh#$ all they want, but she's never gonna take that on! Best case, for them, is talk her into the now cushy VP role then shoot the old horse, to force it upon her. She's a lazy woman of un-earned privilege; another unqualified token who, luckily, had asserted to the powers that she will not take the job.
Jill...........................
He’s useful
If Biden were willing to step aside willingly, he would have done it already. Just like a lot of elderly people with serious cognitive decline, he is stubborn, and digging in. A forced withdrawal will require seriously damaging him, and many of the options would damage the party in general.
That doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Putting off the deed allows the party to rip the band-aid off at the convention, dumping Harris and installing Newsom. But that could get bloody.
There’s always the “Carnahan Plan”. Biden dies suddenly in October, and the DNC announces the poor widow Jill will replace him should Joe win the election. This might actually be the best hope the Dems have.
We will be getting these stupid headlines/articles up until November 10th. The dems are stuck with Biden. Thats it.
Jill will replace him either at or before the convention, cutting off Harris at the pass....................
“Jill will be the nominee then”
I can’t think of anyone who can compete next November. Voters are very dissatisfied with the current administration’s performance over the last 4 years.
It will be an issues election rather than a “person” election.
I didn’t say she would win, just that she would most likely be the nominee..............
It is not just that the Dems are stuck with Biden—the rank and file actually like Biden.
They have been brainwashed by the mass media to think he is a great president.

They love the senile creep.
Betcha’ Hillary wants to dump Biden. Betcha’ she’s buttonholing anyone who’ll listen.
And probably soon. We're going to be electing the captain of the Titanic.
Mike can do more push ups than Joe.
Ha ha! Yikes!
