This is, unfortunately, not a John Kelly problem. It’s a Donald Trump problem.
Trump appointed Kelly, Mattis, Bolton, Sessions, etc.
Those were all terrible choices. I do not care about what any of them might say.
But I do care about what Trump has to say. What did he learn from all these fiascos?

This is the unfortunate downside when we nominate a DC outsider. A president has to fill a great many positions.
Hundreds.
He must rely upon advisers as to whom to appoint for every position. All presidents rely upon advisers for this task. An insider knows the type they are looking for and advisers provide lists to choose from.
President Trump’s shocking victory took The Swamp entirely by surprise. As an outsider he was reliant upon Republican advisers for the lists of potential candidates.
The Swamp knew this and packed those lists with Backstabbers.
The man is now far more aware of this than he was during his first term. He’s learned the hard way.
Governor Ronald Reagan was steered by the ‘powers that be’ to accept George HW Bush as his vice president.
In 1981, President Reagan selected Eric Holder to be a Superior Court Judge in Washington DC – yes, that Eric Holder.
The recommendation came from his vice president. George H W Bush was CIA Director ’76/’77.
What choices did Trump have at the time?
