Absolutely USELESS Illinois State Reps do not even know the difference between Right and Wrong.
I am Stunned But I know I shouldn't Be. State Reps like Brad Halbrook Depend on their Own thinking instead of getting clues from Our Constitution or Expert Legal advice from people who lead in the field. Absolutely DISGUSTING! VOTE THEM ALL OUT FOLKS!!
Your being a Latina has nothing to do with the situation, why bring it up? Also, what does the amount of time I’ve spent in foreign countries have to with the question at hand? We are not talking about anyone’s ethnicity, and we are not talking foreign countries.
I’ll play the game with you, though. I lived in a foreign country for over a year and traveled through 17 other foreign countries over the course of a decade. I like America, so I’ve stayed home since then. Again, it has nothing to do with the issue so it’s a meaningless point.
The issue is whether someone who is here legally, is willing to do a very unforgiving job(one which just happens to be one that they actually have a hard time finding qualified US citizens to fill positions) and is willing to uphold the Constitution and law should be allowed to be LEO.
Let’s flip the script. Have you ever done LEO work? Do you have family that is LEO? Have you ever done security training or worked in a field where you had to learn about international law to a small extent? Have you ever held a drivers license in someplace other than your home country
(the US doesn’t count if you are a foreign national, they hand them out to anybody here)? These questions have nothing to do with the topic; just thought I’d flex like you tried to do with your opening statement.
So all those foreign nationals who have served honorably in the US military and as LEO (they are out there, I know more than a handful personally) are nothing more than "mercenaries" in your book? I am not necessarily in the habit of being offended on behalf of other people. In this case, I'll make an exception, because some of them are my friends, and deserve better.
When an ILLEGAL tries to arrest you, you have the right, the duty to use deadly force against the uninvited INVADER.
Think what you like.
No foreign national should be given the power to arrest me & have me incarcerated. Regardless of their state of virtuousness.
PS I said nothing about the armed forces if you care to note that.
