Prominent environmentalist Erin Brockovich hosted a packed town hall meeting in East Palestine, Ohio, Friday to relay information to local residents affected by a Norfolk Southern train derailment that released toxic chemicals into the town earlier this month.
Brockovich and Mikel Watts, a trial lawyer, informed residents about the action they can consider as the town continues to rebuild itself after a controlled burn was conducted on derailed cars carrying chemicals including vinyl chloride and others associated with health hazards such as cancer.

She kinda makes me nervous. She’s an environmental activist who works with trial lawyers. It’s her job to stir up the ppl. Not saying they’re not totally justified but once it turns into a class action lawsuit, it could be decades until they get relief.

East Palestine is going to be like the aftermath of the covid injections - deep, sweeping, and very worrisome. My son who never had the injection, on my advice, is now newly married to a woman who took one injection for her job and now they are trying to have a child. How it will all work out is very worrisome.

From what I have read they could have pumped this junk into trucks and taken it into a near by factory that could have done a low O2 controlled burn.
They were more interested in getting the tracks cleared, their business back up running then people’s lives.

The citizens have clearly been harmed. I have no problem with lawyers suing on behalf of their clients when the harm to them is obvious and measurable. This is not the kind of lawsuit where the clients get next to nothing. There will be individual lawsuits with specifically name plaintiffs.

When I heard “controlled burn”, so the tank pressures did not get too high, I thought a burn nozzle or something was connected to the tank, and the liquid was burned straight out of the tank. Today I saw they dumped the contents in a drainage ditch and burned it there. This was the work of our hero first responders. What a joke.

The Democrats and Republicans have all become kiss ups for Big Business. They forced a contract on the railroad workers last December for example.
