What is “white”? WASP only? I know a lot of non-WASPs, including Latin Americans, Italians, Middle Easterners, who identify as “white.” No questions asked. Looking at the demographics of any municipality in which there is a large Hispanic population, the total is always more than 100%. For example, here is the breakdown for my town for the 2010 census:
“The racial makeup of the city was 76.3% White, 3.5% African American, 0.7% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 15.7% from other races, and 3.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 40.7% of the population.”
Some of those Hispanics could be black or other races or bi-racial, but I’ll bet a big chunk of those white people are Hispanics.
Too bad La Profesora didn’t get to them before they got so mixed up identity-wise.

As soon as Hispanics started voting Republican, suddenly they would be white again, and racist of course (yes, they used to be considered white) and then and only then would Democrats get serious about the border.
A couple of observations. One, it’s not really about color anymore. The country is way past that. If you are mainstream culture, or one of the subcultures that blend well with mainstream culture, they consider you white.
Their beef is with mainstream culture, to the degree that it reflects the traditional values of ordinary people. They use race as a wedge against it. If you are black, but you move easily in the cultural mainstream, if you are moral and self sufficient, they hate you maybe even more than anyone. A Hispanic who adheres to his catholic roots, and does not let the left speak for him suddenly is “white” in their eyes whatever the color of his pigment.
Race is their obsession, but it is always in the context of driving a wedge against traditional morality, traditional work ethic, and traditional families. That’s what they hate, and race is just a convenient and sadly effective weapon against it.
The Democratic Party is and has always been obsessed with race. They assume everyone shares their rather strange obsession.
