Her Asperger’s prevents self awareness
Lack of self-awareness is but one of a number of traits of those afflicted with Asperger’s syndrome. Another is the apparent capability of associating many seemingly unrelated facts, and making up a whole narrative that appears so seamlessly logical that not much of anything new will ever be included in that body of seamless logic.
Outside influences have little control in how this narrative is arrived at, and the afflicted individual is absolutely and steadfastly bound to this vision of the world. Truly a separate universe with a population of one.
And what else should others understand about this apparent isolation? That the afflicted individual LIKES the isolation, and has little inclination to join the rest of the human race.
