It seems more to me to be about a family of completely depraved degenerates with their entire social circle also being likewise depraved and degenerate and just not understanding that it is in no way normal.
I’ve read a perspective that I am agreeing with atm, that it’s not that the Deep State turns people into depraved degenerates, it’s that the surveillance systems of the Deep State find depraved degenerates and then raise them up through the system.
