South Carolina may have a lot going for it, but it does not have world class skiing/boarding, world class wine regionS or the Sierra Nevada's. If your an "outdoors" person, CA has far more options going for it.

CA just needs to go back to it's more conservative leaning roots and the entire country will be better off for it.

If you say so. We ski a couple times a year in NC, about 2 hours from me. We spend a lot of time outdoors, boating, hiking, etc. I never noticed anything missing. My wife is from SoCal and she feels that SC has nearly all of the benefits that CA has with NONE of the drawbacks.

As for CA, The redwoods of Sonoma County are absolutely breathtaking. Something everyone should see at least once. Napa and all that is too snooty for my taste, so I wouldn’t miss it.

As for getting back to conservative roots, I think the ship sailed on that some time ago. The roots were poisoned. The tree is dying.
