Breaking with media polls, Trump debate strategy to pummel Biden on corruption
Just the News ^ | October 21, 2020 | Carrie Sheffield

Breaking with conventional mainstream media wisdom about voters' top election concerns, part of President Trump's strategy will be to pummel rival Joe Biden on corruption allegations during Thursday's presidential debate in Nashville.

In a race that could hinge on questions of character, a Trump campaign pollster told Just the News that mainstream media polling questions asking voters to pick their top issues of concern from a list usually don't include corruption or scandals such as the Hunter Biden/Burisma investigation or FISA abuse among the options listed.

For example, recent polling from Gallup recently gave registered voters a list of 16 issues to rank in order of importance for their vote. None of those 16 options included questions around government accountability or corruption or surveillance of the 2016 Trump campaign and alleged FISA abuse.

A recent Pew Research Center survey employed a similar methodology with 12 issues, none of which included government integrity or public trust as an option.

Because of this information gap, the Trump camp is prioritizing discussing these issues throughout the debate.

"The mainstream media polls — they're not asking these questions at all, they're not acknowledging that this ever happened," John McLaughlin, a pollster for the Trump 2020 campaign told "Just the News AM" television show on Tuesday...

As well it should.

I don't think Trump would lose any votes.

I hope he points out that there was a lot of corruption in Ukraine and that the voters there recognized this and had enough of it, hence the surprise win by the candidate there who ran against corruption.

You give people 16 choices to rank in a poll, none of those choices being corruption, and surprise surprise, it doesn’t show up in the polling results.

The moderator is a lib who has the power to cut off Trumps micrphone at will. And the topics will be Covid, the economy, racism and climate change. This debate is a farce, I don’t know why Trump agreed to this

I haven’t looked at the list of 16 options but I’d bet Q-anon isn’t on it at all, and if climate change is it’s about #15 at best. So why are debate questions about Q-anon and climate change all the time?

This is the only way a lot of people will hear about it with the complete blackout by corporate/social media.

The 3rd debate was originally to be foreign affairs but that was not in Joe’s best interest. My money says Trump ignores the topics and pounds on corruption anyway daring them to continue cutting his mic.

how The Hill reported it:

the even more garbled, actual answer:

I believe in climate change . IT IS REAL.

Earlier in the week it was very nice here in Minneapolistan.

Yesterday we got seven inches of snow and the climate is much colder.

This climate change thingy seems to be happening every year.

Voters are going to care less about crack-head Hunter’s sexual transgressions, than about Joe using Hunter to launder kick-backs and bribes.

Hunter is not running for President. Stick with Joe’s crimes.

Maybe a good idea. For instance those that watch only the nightly news don’t know anything about the Biden/China/Hunter/Burisma corruption.

Climate change IS real. Just a few weeks ago it was very hot where I live. Now it’s fast cooling off... and a strange thing is happening...leaves are falling from the trees! I tell you we’ve got to save the planet, before it’s too late!
