Yes, safer vehicles, and less careful drivers. If someone had been texting and driving in the 60’s , they would never survive their mistakes. Instead, foolish texting drivers, of any age, where THEY CAN’T PUT DOWN THE DAMNED PHONE, will wreck or cause wrecks, with little consequence other than higher insurance rates. When driving was known to be dangerous, people paid attention. Now ? Not so much.
With the advent of NASCAR dashcams and driving video games, even Non-texters drive like idiots. No fear of dying.
To be honest, i appreciate many of the safety features in today’s vehicles, because idiots drive here in Florida, college town. But i remember driving my 61 Triumph knowing full well that if i hit anything, or they hit me, i was going to look like a Hershe kiss wrapped in red foil.
