NY Times Story on Trump’s Tax Records Actually Proves Trump Was Telling the Truth, Blows Apart Dem Conspiracies

As we reported earlier, the New York Times claims they have obtained nearly two decades of Trump related tax return data, for him and hundreds of related companies that make up his organization.

Now there are a lot of questions here, starting with who leaked the data.

The New York Times says it was someone who had a legal right to the data. But that doesn’t mean they had a legal right to leak it. Money bet is obviously on Democrats trying to do a hit on Trump in the final days before the election. And there’s definitely got to be an investigation into this because there’s no question the leak was illegal/improper, even if the person who leaked it might have been legally allowed to have the information.

But while Democrats were trying to do a hit on Trump, it may turn out to have the opposite effect.

Trump has been saying that he wasn’t releasing his taxes because he was under audit. Indeed, according to the New York Times, Trump has in fact been under an audit for about ten years, proving he was telling the truth.

The reason why is actually rather funny and all because of Barack Obama.

The NYT confirms Trump was telling the truth about being under audit. https://t.co/abF9cV8z4A pic.twitter.com/dF0iuA067e

Of course the IRS would audit someone like him all the time.

They just couldn’t wait to find some mistake and have a chance to nail someone with that kind of money to the wall with fines.

What a great money maker for them.

Trump has both legal right to have and right to disclose.

Sound like Dirty Harry Reid again. Remember in 2012 he said that Romey hadn’t paid any taxes for 10 years After the election, when asked about it, he said “It worked didn’t it?”

FTA: So if you have any issue with the way Trump got a refund and then didn’t have to pay more, blame Barack Obama, it was perfectly legal because of the law that he signed. So Democrats really can’t attack Trump for using a law they put in place that he was perfectly entitled to use. Bottom line? I want someone who actually has the business acumen to employ what he can within the law, that’s the guy I want in charge of the economy.

The liberals hate this. Everyone of them will tell their accountant to pay less taxes. None will ever say to send in more of my money.

"They (the IRS) couldn't wait to find some mistake...."

The IRS, based in DC, is undoubtedly loaded with Deep Staters and Swamp Denizens slavering to put Trump away even if it could cost them their jobs.

I wouldn’t be shocked if this information was leaked with his approval.

I don't know if regular IRS folks work any faster than DCAA folks -Defense Contract Audit Agency. I worked for a defense contractor that has multi-billions in sales yearly. We had DCAA auditors that had offices on-site. It takes years to finalize audits.

It was nothing to finalize open years 10 years after the fact. For example, in the year 2019, you may have “open audits” on indirect rates (Overhead, G&A, etc.) that have not been finalized from 2009 onward. Therefore, we could bill the government only with “provisional rates”. If the actual rates finally audited and agreed to by the company is less, the government was owed money. If the rates turned out to be more, we could bill for the difference.

Trump ran a multi billion dollar industry —it's not like he's using Turbo tax to do his taxes. He employs legions of tax accountants and tax lawyers, lawyers that specialize in real estate, labor law, etc. This is complicated business and if any of the tax laws are retroactive, then tax filings have to be updated and re-filed.

Nothing is easy peasy here. I fully understand that it's taking lots of time. And someone like the NYT trying to make this a simple, direct issue are ignoramuses.

Loss years that are being carried over are still subject to scrutiny. Carryover can be 20 years.

I can’t wait until they ask him about this in the debates.

“What tax returns are you referring to Chris? I’ve been under audit which is why I won’t release them.”

“You know Mr. President, the tax returns the New York Times has published.”

“Wait..what? The NY Times has MY tax returns? Are they legitimate?”

“They appear to be Mr. President”.

“Well then if they are someone has illegally given them to the NY Times. And the New York Times has unethically and possibly criminally released them. I’m afraid if you want to know anything else you need to speak to my lawyers. The NY Times is certainly going to hear from them if what you’re alleging is true.”

If real, the only things we learned from Trump’s tax returns are - Americans can have no expectation of privacy, our government is totally corrupt, and many bureaucrats are completely biased political operatives.
