It’s almost to the point that we may have to consider paying people to do the right thing.

Maybe we can develop some sort of system whereby men and women on welfare marry, work toward self-sufficiency and good parenting, and earn credits that can be used toward purchase of a home built by Habitat for Humanity or some sort of similar program.

My post is not meant to belittle or mock you in any way. I’m just trying to provoke you to thought and to understand just how disastrous your proposed idea would be.

Who would determine what is considered “good parenting”?
In your idea who would administer and issue such “credits”?

Social engineering always leads to totalitarianism or communism no matter what imagined good intention it starts out with.

Your perceived solution to the problem is rooted in the same idea that Marx had.

This is a great day to ponder Liberty and Freedom and how they are maintained.
