Tell me if I’m wrong but I see a pattern developing here and will make an observation based on that pattern.
The New York government either likes violent people (Black Lives Matter and Muslims) and dislikes peaceful people (observing Christians and Jews) or they are cowards and fear violent people

They’re just political grandstanders. They go with whatever way they see the political winds are blowing.
De Blasio and Cuomo know that the majority of New Yorkers and the New York media support the protesters and don’t like religion very much. So there you go.
