I worked at a major research and development lab and one day management called a meeting to tell us that we were opening an animal facility. Our group was to told to keep this secret and not to mention it or discuss it with anyone due to worries that animal activists would protest or create “other” problems. I asked what “other” kind of problem they were worried about? They said “They might come to your house”. My response was the same I would give to the rioter who threatened to go to the suburbs, “Come to my house, see what happens”.

Some people never wonder about what will be the last thing they see when bad actions start.
