If the witness vote succeeds, Hawley aims to force votes on subpoenas for House Intelligence Chairman Schiff (D-Calif.), Vice President Biden, Hunter Biden, Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, the still-unnamed whistleblower who reported Trump's July call with the Ukrainian president and a reported acquaintance of the whistleblower's.

Subpoenas = Delay

Let the defense make their case, ask questions, then vote to dismiss.

I just watched Chuck Todd interview Senator Mike Braun and was stunned.

Braun nodded agreement when Todd stated that Trump actually did what the dems accuse him of.

And Braun agreed that Trump stepped over the line during the phone call and this impeachment effort should make him more cautious in the future.

Looks like Trump’s defense team needs to check their own side.

Braun came off as spineless, brainless, gutless. There is more firmness in a wet noodle than him.

"There’s no evidence Biden used his position as vice president to benefit his son's work with Burisma."

Right, Burgess, and there's no evidence that Trump used his position as President to benefit his own work, either. Why didn't you add that, as well?

IMHO this impeachment charade has a strong component of the Democrat talking points that the Senate “colluded” and covered up Trump’s “crimes”. They hope to take the Senate in the next election. Actually having witnesses doesn’t work for them for multiple reasons.

So I think the witness thing is all talk.

I still believe there will be no witnesses.
Both sides have people they want to protect. Therefore there will be none.

It’s all beltway theater. The GOP want this over. There will be no witnesses.

The DS has it’s ace in the hole, Lindsey Graham, to stop this. Linda voting against Biden testifying gives a dozen or so other DS RINOs cover to derail this.

This is for the benefit of one person, and one person only.

That would be the one US Senator who has been working to take the votes of a couple more Senators, Republicans, with him to the other side and to call witnesses... Witnesses that the Democrats want, of course.

Now of course we all know who this sorry backstabbing opportunistic bastard is, so there's no need to mention his name. Just sorry backstabbing opportunistic bastard will work just fine.

"Yo Milt! (Ooops... sorry...) If you want to start dragging witnesses in here and drag this out until the election you better be sure... we're about to help you out with that plank in your eye."

the still-unnamed whistleblower who reported Trump’s July call with the Ukrainian president

**************

Think if you will about the absurdity of NOT wanting to call the so-called whistleblower as a witness. Where else, except in the hot air factory of the U.S. senate, would an investigation not want to examine the very beginning of a case?

How can you understand something without looking at the root cause or impetus for it? This should be a no brainer. If no one else is called the senate should at least want to hear how it all started. But then again, perhaps they don’t really want to.
