Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)
Yet another narrative-setter from the NYTimes’s deep state mouthpiece hack, Adam Goldman. – Honestly, this is getting to be almost as frequent as the stock market closing at new record highs, something that also happened yet again on Thursday.
Goldman posted a piece yesterday designed to set the narrative for the Times’s Deep State managers, this time in favor of our National Teenage Drama Queen, former FBI Director James Comey. Goldman gets down to his cover business right from the start, with this headline:
Justice Dept. Investigating Years-Old Leaks and Appears Focused on Comey
Oh, hey, it’s just more leaks by Comey – and hey, we all have known for years Comey was a serial leaker – and the leaks in question might have involved classified information, but they are “years-old”, so what’s the big deal here? Right? Right.
But then Goldman really gets down to business with his sub-head, which is an even more blatantly-slanted statement designed to convince readers to condemn not the criminal – Comey – but the investigators:
An inquiry into years-old disclosures of classified information is highly unusual and leaves law enforcement officials open to accusations of politicizing their work.
So, that’s a two-for-one deal, not only sucking up to the Drama Queen, but also consistent with the corrupt news media’s ongoing efforts to smear Attorney General William Barr. Goldman has achieved all of that, and we haven’t even gotten into the text of his piece. That’s gold star stuff right there.
Let’s go to the first two paragraphs, of the piece, which first lay out the bare bones of what is actually taking place, and then quickly manages to also smear President Donald Trump:
WASHINGTON — Federal prosecutors in Washington are investigating a years-old leak of classified information about a Russian intelligence document, and they appear to be focusing on whether the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey illegally provided details to reporters, according to people familiar with the inquiry.
The case is the second time the Justice Department has investigated leaks potentially involving Mr. Comey, a frequent target of President Trump, who has repeatedly called him a “leaker.” Mr. Trump recently suggested without evidence that Mr. Comey should be prosecuted for “unlawful conduct” and spend years in prison.
There’s that favorite corrupt media phrase, “without evidence,” which is only used against Republicans and always manages to ignore the mountain of information in the public domain supporting the President’s statement. But hey, that’s what corrupt reporters at the New York Times are trained to do, so Goldman might get a promotion for checking off so many Deep State narrative piece boxes before we even get to his third paragraph.
You have to go to paragraph 4 to get to the essence of what the investigators are really looking into:
Law enforcement officials are scrutinizing at least two news articles about the F.B.I. and Mr. Comey, published in The New York Times and The Washington Post in 2017, that mentioned the Russian government document, according to the people familiar with the investigation. Hackers working for Dutch intelligence officials obtained the document and provided it to the F.B.I., and both its existence and the collection of it were highly classified secrets, the people said.
So, hey, Comey was leaking “highly classified secrets” to the New York Times (shocking!) and the Washington Post, the two major print mouth organs for the Democrat Party and the Deep State, which are largely, but not entirely, the same thing. Given everything we have found out about these three specific players over the last four years, this is akin to informing the Times readership that water is indeed wet.
So, what is the actual, exact nature of this “Russian intelligence document,” you ask? Well, you naturally have to go deep into bowels of the report where few of the Times short attention span readers will bother to tread to discover that it is actually nothing more than an official Democrat National Committee email sent by then-DNC Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to one Leonard Benardo, an official with the Open Society Foundations, a group funded by … wait for it … George Soros.
Oh.:
The latest investigation involves material that Dutch intelligence operatives siphoned off Russian computers and provided to the United States government. The information included a Russian analysis of what appeared to be an email exchange during the 2016 presidential campaign between Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Democrat of Florida who was also the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee at the time, and Leonard Benardo, an official with the Open Society Foundations, a democracy-promoting organization whose founder, George Soros, has long been a target of the far right.
Note the sympathetic nod to Soros at the end, which attempts to portray this despicable Democracy-destroying monster as some sort of victim. This is how depraved Goldman really is.
The next paragraph is a real doozy, which is why Goldman and his corrupt editors buried it so deeply:
In the email, Ms. Wasserman Schultz suggested that then-Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch would make sure that Mrs. Clinton would not be prosecuted in the email case. Both Ms. Wasserman Schultz and Mr. Benardo have denied being in contact, suggesting the document was meant to be Russian disinformation.
So, gee, here we have the Chairman of the DNC telling a radical anti-American Soros operative that Loretta Lynch was putting in the fix on the Clinton email investigation. Gosh, imagine that.
But Golman attempts to come to Lynch’s rescue two paragraphs later, working very hard to imply that the official DNC email is just a Russian fake:
Whether the document was fake remains an open question. But American officials at the time did not believe that Ms. Lynch would hinder the Clinton email investigation, and neither Ms. Wasserman Schultz nor Mr. Benardo had any inside information about it. Still, if the Russians had released the information after the inquiry was closed, it could have tainted the outcome, hurt public confidence in the Justice Department and sowed discord.
That first sentence is an outright fabrication. Many experts have examined the raft of DNC emails that have been made public since 2016, and not a single one of those emails has been found to have been fake. That is a disgraceful fake news sentence. Thus, totally expected from a Deep State toady at the New York Times.
Then there’s the sentence about “American officials” at the time not believing that Lynch would hinder the Clinton fake investigation by the FBI: Who was a higher “official” within the Democrat Party than the freaking Chairman of the DNC, the person who is outright telling a Soros lackey that the AG was in fact fixing the FBI’s fake investigation?
The piece just gets more disgustingly biased from there, but you can read the rest for yourselves if you care to do so.
Bottom line: All of this information most likely came from Comey and his lawyers, who are probably the “sources” for Goldman. Here we have Comey under investigation one more time for his serial leaking, a pattern of behavior that William Barr’s DOJ already decided to give the Drama Queen a pass on when he was actually the subject of a criminal referral last year by IG Michael Horowitz.
There is no real doubt that Comey is guilty; the only question is whether or not Barr will ever decide to do anything about it. This is a crime for which hundreds of millions of ordinary Americans would spend time in prison for committing. Why should Jim Comey be any different? Of course, we all know the answer to that by now.
So, once again, William Barr is presented with a prime opportunity to prove that he is indeed dedicated to ending the two-tiered system of justice that Attorneys General of the 21st century have fully implemented in our country. This very, very low-hanging fruit for an AG with good intent.
I wish I had more confidence that Barr would to finally, at long last, pick that low-hanging fruit and do something real.
That is all.
