Which Of These 5 Names Should I Use For My Handyman Business?
FreeRepublic ^ | 11-10-19 | OV

I have decided to start my own handyman business. I am currently doing odd jobs for people, but I want to make it official and thus I need to get a good business name while legally getting all my ducks in a row.

In the state of Idaho, I only need to be certified if I do plumbing or electrical. If I get a request for plumbing or electrical work I have friends who are certified that have agreed to work with me on those jobs.

I am in the process of getting a business license by the state, and will soon be bonded for $3000.00. This week I will open a business bank account, but I need a good name.

I already have business cards, (image below) I made with my computer. I also made a flyer (image below) that I have in many stores in towns throughout the County I live in. So far I have been getting good responses and I am actually getting more jobs than I expected.

My last name being Ness, gives me a good start for a catchy name. I have come up with 5 names I am considering.

Please help me by choosing which of the following names you think would be best. Mind you, I will be using this name for as long as my business is profitable

Helpful-Ness Handyman Services

NESS HANDYMAN SERVICES

Ness For Less Handyman Services

NESS Handyman Express

Handi-Ness Services

For obvious reasons I omitted the complete phone number and email address for this post

“...single Moms who need small jobs...”

Not necessarily single Moms, there are many married folks whose husbands would rather write a check, since they simply don’t know how to do basic home maintenance or husbands who would rather be golfing etc. Just use you basic God given instincts to determine if all is above board before you start the job. Good luck. DM

“NESS EXPRESS (in bold)
Handyman Services (smaller font)”

IMHO. More memorable.”

Agree with RushIs... Short, sweet, and precise.

Helpful-Ness is catchy.

I'd avoid Ness-For-Less. There's no reason to target low margin clients.

Ness Handyman Express.

Don’t use the one with Less.

You will be much better off in the long run targeting people who value your work.

I’m in construction. The people who nickel and dime you and price shop up front are never done nickel and diming you. My “cheap” competitors are always having to file liens to collect payment.

My words of advice, take it or leave it. And good luck!.

Speaking as someone who needs handyman services, I prefer direct and to-the-point names. Ness Handyman Services I would call in a heartbeat. I don’t have time for cutesy. Clever slogans are good, though. A point to make is that you get it done right the first time. A lot of men out there think they know what they’re doing, talk a good game, and leave the customer with a half-a$$ed job. I really hate to call somebody else when the first guy flubbed the job.

Good luck. I bet you’ll soon need to take on helpers and train new people to help you keep up with all the work you’re going to get if you really know what you’re doing, which it looks like you do.
