From what I read - she lived next door to a mosque. Maybe she thought Allah would protect her.

She had a screen door and they were awake. So what’s your problem with it? And what does it have to do with her being murdered?

The temperature at the time of the shooting was about 40 degrees. That’s too cold to have the door open.
Weird time for a little kid to still have his eyes open after supposedly being in school the day before but it’s possible.
A welfare check should be done by the cops going up to the front door to make sure she’s ok. If there were bad guys around at 10 pm when the neighbor first noticed the open door, then it’s more than likely they’d not still be hanging around 4 1/2 hours later when the cop showed up. So, there’s no reason for him to go sneaking around the house and certainly not identifying himself.
But Amber didn’t identify herself when she blew away her neighbor.
