The Fort Worth, Texas, police officer who fatally shot a woman while she was babysitting her nephew over the weekend has been charged with murder.
Aaron Dean was booked into the Tarrant County Correction Center and later released on $200,000 bond, according to jail officials.
Fort Worth Police Sgt. Chris Daniels acknowledged the outrage that the killing of Atatiana Jefferson, 28, had sparked.
“To the citizens and residents of our city, we feel and understand your anger and your disappointment and we stand by you as we work together to make Fort Worth a better place for us all,” he said

What is wrong with preparing to defend yourself from an intruder in your back yard at 2:30 AM? If YOU hear someone moving around on your property at night, do you offer cookies?

The temperature at the time of the shooting was about 40 degrees. That’s too cold to have the door open.
Weird time for a little kid to still have his eyes open after supposedly being in school the day before but it’s possible.
A welfare check should be done by the cops going up to the front door to make sure she’s ok. If there were bad guys around at 10 pm when the neighbor first noticed the open door, then it’s more than likely they’d not still be hanging around 4 1/2 hours later when the cop showed up. So, there’s no reason for him to go sneaking around the house and certainly not identifying himself.
But Amber didn’t identify herself when she blew away her neighbor.
I am getting tired of doing research for other people.

As a defensive shooter and responsible gun owner, I am accountable for every round that goes down range. I don't want any misses, so I am always sure of my target and what's behind it or between me and the target. Your philosophy as applied here is scary and, as I said, irresponsible.

My wife once picked up a gun and checked out strange noises at night in our backyard. I was overseas at the time. There was a guy in our backyard.
If she had shot him, she would have killed our neighbor’s drunk teenage kid.
Glad she didn’t shoot first and look later.

Agree 100% about idiot. Responsibility2nd is quite the misnomer for him. Shot dead in your own home by a cop outside. To even try to defend this is just plain stupid.

I did not see her in THAT video either, but I did see her in about the last maybe 2 seconds of another video. In that one it appeared to me that she was holding a possible long gun pointed up. It also appeared to me that the officers shot was a premature discharge, while he was screaming show me your hands! when he said hands.
Except no long gun was found that I know of.
Also, why would someone who is looking at a gun being pointed at them say show me your hands?
It seemed to me like he got scared and accidentally discharged his weapon entirely too early, resulting in her pointless murder.
The mayor, the police chief and other public officials are poisoning the potential juror pool (public) and making it impossible for the officer to get anything even close to resembling a fair trial at this point.
Whoever the officer's lawyer is, he'd best get that trial moved elsewhere.
