The U.S. House can review the already-existing evidence for impeachment, such as in a debate on a vote for impeachment. But they cannot try to unearth grounds for impeachment that they do not already have
Here’s some free legal advice: Trump Administration officials should reject the recent subpoenas by the House of Representatives Democrats. They read like political speeches, intended to influence public discussion, not like legal subpoenas. To answer these “when did you stop violating the law?” letters is to buy into and endorse their false premise.
If a Trump official were my client, I would recommend a short, quick letter in response. But would my client run the risk of not complying with a subpoena? Could officials who don’t cooperate be found in contempt or be accused of obstruction of justice?
Joe DiGenova explained this on Ingram last night. Pelosi doesn’t want a vote because it would give Republicans subpoena rights as well. The Dems don’t want that, they want to have secret trials, with only what they see fit leaking out, and impeach that way. Just like the good old days in Soviet Russia.
DiGenova also had a gem describing AOC: iridescent ignoramus. Pure gold.
Just respond that it may be a piece of paper that LOOKS LIKE a subpoena, it is not.
They have no authority to issue fishing licenses-oops I mean subpoenas like this.

If Trump sends a sheet of paper with the word ‘Subpoena’ on it to Pelosi, does that legally obligate her to show up and testify under oath at the White House. Obviously not!
The dems know this but they think they can get the low IQ votes when they go on CNN says so and so ignored their subpoenas so they must be guilty.
This was the plan all along, to never reveal a "witness", have a vote or do anything involving a legal process. It was a designed to be a circus the alphabet networks could use to fill up their 24 hour programming schedule. Only thing is....they have have not gotten much traction with voters who could be swayed to NOT vote for Trump who did not the last time. In fact what will happen is a red hot, angry Trump base will be out 95% in 2020 to vote for Trump. Warren\Biden\PantsSuit will lose worse than 2016. Then watch the riots really begin and Bill Ayers style domestic terrorism. CivWar II will begin then. College campuses closed down, black neighborhoods under martial law, people shot on the border trying to get in. Going to get much worse and lots of blood till we can declare victory in this. The left will have quite the death spasm.

It’s crazy how close the Democrats’ actions mirror the actions of the Soviet Union described by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn in The Gulag Archipelago, minus the actual work camps. False accusations based on unspecified laws are heaped upon opponents of the Democrats at every level and the accusations themselves are “proof” enough to destroy an innocent’s career. There is no basis in law and certainly no presentation of evidence in front of a jury as required in the American tradition.
It appears the murderous Soviet Union is the wet dream of modern American Democrats.
What Joe really did was echo what the President and his legal team have already formally declared - I guess extra support never hurts.
