Its not so much when but how. Recall 0 didn’t want him to run but he did anyway. I think Biden is somewhat delusional about himself and his campaign and would happily sail along as if everything was ok not really noting the gathering storm clouds. It will take some outside agency to force him out of the race and I’m not sure which that will be. Maybe the DNC will show up with an offer he cannot refuse but who knows. If he stumbles badly in the opening primaries that might do it as well.
Biden is already out.

John Kerry was left for dead in low single digits and out of money at this time in 2003. He stuck around long enough to back into the nomination.
Many of the REAL powers in the party should be concerned that a Sanders or Warren candidacy will create negative coat-tails for the underticket, leaving the Democrat Party with a wipeout in the House, Senate, and State Legislatures even as record numbers are rolled up in coastal cities and university towns. A Sanders or a Warren would be part of the recipe for the Democrats to become a regional party. Nominating a doofus like Biden reduces that risk somewhat.

They know that. The journalism cartel - the AP and its membership, and any and all other wire services and their customers - operates on the premise that "journalists are objective.” If so, then “there’s nothing to see here - just move on.” For if so, the journalism cartel - with its unanimous voice declaring what is news and what isn’t - defines the public interest.The only problem with that narrative is that it just isn’t so; it is an astonishment to me to think how many decades I took that for granted. Fundamentally, all journalists know that they are on the lookout for bad news which casts society in a bad light (and thus, promotes the conceit that we need more laws and more government). But if journalism is negative, and “journalists are objective,” that would imply that “negativity is objectivity.” And that is a proposition which only a cynic could could take seriously.
Equally, “journalists are objective” takes objectivity to be a state of being rather than a difficult discipline. If “journalists are objective” then journalists don’t even have to try to be objective.
Worse, “journalists are objective” puts journalists in a bind: actual objectivity is hard, man. But there is an easy out - journalists can “go along and get along” with each other. Which is what they do - and why the real meaning of “journalists are objective” is, “journalists are unanimous.” Unanimous not only about how any given story is slanted, but - very importantly - about what is news and what isn’t.
“The media” is utterly corrupt. And it shows - for anyone with the slightest skepticism in them.

What is pathetic is that Biden is retirement material, and instead of walking into retirement or other activities like a normal person, he doesn’t know how to do anything other than run for office and be in the public eye constantly. It’s like Hillary. The ability to bow out and enjoy other aspects of life and be a normal person just isn’t there. Power is addictive.
