The officials let the touchdown that didn't happen count. :)

The same thing happened in a game between Oregon and TCU sometime in the 1970’s. TCU was in the depths of futility at that time. A TCU player came off the bench to tackle an Oregon player running for an easy touchdown. He said he did it to inspire the team....
