CNN Reporter to McConnell: Would It Be Racist To Tell Your Immigrant Wife To Go Back?

...Mitch McConnell held a brief press conference Tuesday afternoon and addressed President Trump's controversial tweets telling progressive Congresswomen to "go home." McConnell opened the media availability with a statement and then took questions, including one about his immigrant wife and current Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao from CNN's Manu Raju.

"The president is not a racist, and I think the tone of all of this is not good for the country, but it's coming from all different ideological points of view," McConnell told reporters.

"We've seen the far-left throw accusations of racism at everyone, anyone who disagrees with them on anything including the Speaker of the House," he said.

(snip)

MANU RAJU, CNN CONGRESSIONAL REPORTER: You're married to an immigrant that is a nationalized U.S. citizen. If someone were to say to her she should go back to her country as a criticism of federal policies, wouldn't you consider that a racist attack?

MCCONNELL: Well, the Secretary of Transportation came here at age eight legally, not speaking a word of English, and has realized the American dream. And I think all of us think that this is a process of renewal that's going on in this country for a very long time and is good for America. We ought to continue it.

RAJU: Was it racist for him to say go back to the country of (INAUDIBLE)?

MCCONNELL: As I said, the--the immigration has been a fulfilling of the American dream, and new people who come here have a lot of ambition, a lot of energy, tend to do very well and invigorate our country, and my wife's a good example of that.

REPORTER: Would you ever use the words go back to where you came from?

MCCONNELL: ...I'm obviously a big fan of legal immigration.

When was the last time Elaine Chao was critical of the United States? Is she in the position of shaping legislation to her ideology? Can she or does she try to influence voters? When was the last time she was disrespectful to ANY president of the United States?

Why on earth didn’t he forget about being PC and ask the interviewer those questions?

My will Fe is an immigrant from Mexico - a legal one, who is a citizen and who voted for Trump. If someone said this to her, I would be pissed (depending upon the context,of course), but not because it would be a racist comment, but because it would be rude. Race has NOTHING to do with this type of comment, not for my wife and not for the anti-American Squad bitches.

That comment, “If you don’t like it here, go home or leave”. Has been used by everyone to reorient immigrants or natives that are forever complaining and projecting their own inherent inadequacies on America. Its used to force them for a moment to remember what and why they left and beyond rose colored nostalgia, really reflect on what it would be like to return permantly.

Reporter: Would it be racist to tell your immigrant wife to go back?

Response: Would it be racist to even consider such a question? This is about activities detrimental to the security of our country, not race.

Does it have anything to do with race?

Heck no! I remember the “America, Love It or Leave It” bumper stickers from 20+ years ago, what happened to that sentiment?

McConnell should have said, “It’s racist for Harvard and other Ivy League colleges to discriminate against people like my wife because they think Asians are too successful in America.”

My answer would be, “No, but it would be rude. She’s a patriot.”

She was born on the mainland, nothing we can do about her. And while she is a vindictive, nasty, mean spirited moron, I think having her and the rest of them around are actually a good thing. They’re forcing the Dem’s and the Left to expose themselves for who they really are and what they really want. If Crowley had held onto that seat, we probably wouldn’t be getting the education about the Left that we’re getting now.

The meaning of the word "racist" to those on the Left has nothing to do with "race."

It has been redefined as a general term of derogation (an insult of a person's worth) which implies that a person is evil on a level equal to (even if different than) that of the KKK or Nazis.

Those on the Left don't care that they have de-fanged the word "racist" to average folks. They stolen the word for use only within their clan.

It only has meaning for other Lefties...it is now a dog whistle.

We all have our ideas of what he could/should have said but I like yours best!

Elaine L. Chao may be an immigrant but she is a LEGAL immigrant that truly cares for the country. She is a true lady - Something that can not be said of anyone in “The Squad”.

“The Squad” is nothing but a bunch of attention whores.

Criticizing people of color is racism because they are more virtuous the more melanin they have. It’s science, you racial warming deniers.

I’m pretty sure that Talib is a Caucasian.

IF we are to go purely by skin hue, I’d suggest that most Japanese and many Chinese should be labeled “White”.

(Disclaimer) Some may have known that I came from Taiwan myself. Came to the States for graduate study in Chemistry.

So I might be just a tinsy bit ticked off with Manu Raju.

Is his immigrant wife bad-mouthing the country and its laws and government on a daily, highly-visible, basis? If so, then no, it wouldn’t be racist; it would be patriotic.
