Cardinal Dolan will NEVER Excommunicate His Buddy Gov. Andrew Cuomo

Cardinal Dolan sitting elephant-like on Christian hearts and souls, will NEVER excommunicate his buddy Gov. Cuomo

“Please never use the word weigh in when I come on, I’ve asked you to avoid that,” portly Cardinal Timothy Dolan, head of the archdiocese of New York, told Brian Kilmeade in yesterday’s interview on Fox & Friends.

For Christian pro-lifers still reeling in shock that Democrat New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law new rules that permit babies to be aborted up to the day of birth, Dolan is an elephant sitting on their hearts and souls.

“When asked whether New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) should be formally excommunicated from the Catholic Church because he signed into law new rules that permit babies to be aborted up to the day of birth—what one bishop has called “infanticide”—New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan said such a step “would be counterproductive.” It would give “ammo to our enemies,” he added. To: Alas Babylon!

This is not much different from the America we knew changing.

“I didn’t leave the church/country/party, it left me”.

All of them are being infiltrated. The poison has long since been spreading.

It is savagery. I agree 100%. It is morally barbaric. I personally favor formal excommunication would be used more often today. Most Bishops today will not excommunicate a layperson. Excommunications today are only used in cases of theological challenges to Doctrine or Authority by priests or other Bishops. So I disagree with the approach used by the American Hierarchy, very few Bishops to my knowledge have come out and said they would excommunicate Cuomo. Unfortunately, they are not the Cardinal Archbishop of New York who has immediate pastoral jurisdiction over Cuomo.

Still, from a Catholic theological perspective, the Sacrament of Baptism did leave a spiritual indelible mark on Cuomo’s soul, as it does for anyone baptized. Has his militant abortion policies covered or tainted that mark with sin, in my view, yes. But the mark is still there, repentance is what restores it back into a state of Grace.

Please read the history of
“the Church”. The Pope’s position was sold once upon a time and things haven’t changed much.

The CC will sell Cuomo an indulgence and that will be that. No problem.

Isn’t it all about money? Around the third century didn’t the scam start with selling indulgences to fill the coffers of the new church? I went to a Catholic funeral a few weeks ago and there was this money box thing under a bunch of candles and was told people pay to light a candle for some reason. (Would that be considered an indulgence?) And the deceased’s family was shaken down for money for some other reason — maybe to get a better seat in Heaven or something. (I don’t know why.) Money, money, money.

Bottom line, if Cuomo has has money — which he does, and the church wants it — which it does, and Dolan represents the church, the relationship will continue. As Rush says, “Follow the money.”

Does the Catholic church ever excommunicate anyone any more?
