Story just hit the wires.
Trump denies use of a government plane for Pelosi’s trip to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan. Tells her that she can of course fly commercial if she wants.
President Trump on Thursday told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi he was canceling the official government jet for a trip she planned to take to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan, saying it would be wrong for her to go while the government is shut down.
“In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate,” he wrote in a letter to the California Democrat.
“I look forward to seeing you soon and even more forward to watching our open and dangerous southern border finally receive the attention, funding and security it so desperately deserves!”

That is correct. I took a bit of license, but I didn’t think Nancy was Italian.
Now there was a missed opportunity. With a little research I could have used the exact quote. Her maiden name was D’alessandro, which is Italian.

I can damn well tell you the military as a whole hate these dog and pony shows by politicians seeking photo ops at our expense to show the voters back home they really do care about little Johnny when little Johnny knows too well they don’t give a flying-— about him. The politicians simply use tax payers dollars for a campaign junket and a taxpayer funded vacation being slobbered over by senior military officers seeking future favors. I have bitter memories of standing long periods in dress blues/whites on a flight deck or manning the rails and being forced to salute some corn ball liberal ass that didn’t know the difference between a hands salute and a mosquito slap. I loved my navy but always had distain for politicians and chaplains who thought they could do my job better than anyone.
