I had to ‘shun’ a cousin who is so stridently Conservative that she cannot talk about ANYTHING else.
I’m not kidding! I invited her over for coffee and to walk our dogs together at my farm. This was a number of years ago when we were having some contagious disease problems at local Dog Parks where she usually walked her dogs. After she promised me that her dogs were not carrying anything, I said...Fine!
I have NEVER met anyone in my LIFE that can turn ANY conversation back to Politics. OMG! She just would NOT let up!
Could we talk about our favorite coffees? Well, that led back to imports and NAFTA...
Could we talk about our dogs? Well, that led back to the pros and cons of vaccinating your kids...
Could we talk about her own successful business as a local Barista? Back to politics and government and rules and laws and crushing business practices, etc.
You could ask her her opinion on, say, the FRUIT BOWL on the TABLE and it would lead back to politics...and I’m taking within two sentences, LOL!
She was annoying to the extreme. After spending 4 hours with her, my ears were bleeding.
