I would like to think that a conservative would not act in the boorish and vulgar way DeNiro did at an awards show (where he as a film actor did not belong, to give an award to a rock and roller who should not have been considered a “broadway show”, but I digress). If DeNiro was addressing the DNC, or some private ‘rat function, I would not be bothered. I just cannot see how the audience allowed him to speak that way at an occasion that was supposed to have some dignity and class. If I were in the audience in 2009 and some conservative performer (yes, I know, oxymoron) made the same remarks about President Obama I would have gotten up and left, or at least started to boo such a classless performance. The left is unhinged.
DeNiro’s recent & appalling behavior is the reason I now avoid not only awards shows but any function that tends to attract liberals — be it lectures, workshops, even professional conferences. All have devolved into anti-Trump or pro-feminist/LGBTQ/BLM showcases.
This week I was planning to attend a book lecture group, but cancelled, knowing the kind of people most likely to be there.
What’s sad — I used to admire the arts, sciences, sports & entertainment, all of which once united the public of all stripes. Now our Western culture has become politicized and corrupted beyond hope.
With respect to Man in the High Tower, I found a couple of episodes interesting, but it quickly became loathesome with a lumbering storyline and very little direction.
Stopped going to Hollywood movies years ago.

BTW, I was a huge fan of the original Blade Runner, and seriously enjoyed the sequel. However, a few years ago I read the book on which it is based and was not impressed. I’ve noticed since then that nothing I’ve been exposed to that was written or inspired by Philip Dick is any good.
I see him as a one hit wonder, and even that hit was made great by someone else tweaking it.
Can’t wait until CGI makes actors obsolete.
“Blade Runner” was not of PKD’s best books in my view.
His best short story was “The Electric Ant” and his best novels were “Time Out of Joint” and “Ubik” imho. None of these were made into movies.
When I read “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep” I had to ask myself why they turned it into a movie. Then I realized I had the answer to why none of the great science fiction was turned into a “successful” movie. Proof is in the non-popularity of “Dune”.
The answer: Good science fiction is way too complicated and “deep” to be a movie. It’s the simple stories. The short stories, the stuff out of Omni magazine that makes profitable science fiction movies.
Though I’d love to see Varley’s Red Thunder/lightning/Rolling books turned to movies. :)
*Snifffff* Gee, your hair smells terrific.
I was thinking Star Trek as well.
you can really see the flaws in the set pieces on the remastered high def episodes, it’s a lot easier to spot the stunt men during fight scenes as well.
Might be an interesting expose’ some time in the future to publicly list how many of the Hollywood Morons gave money to Hillary *AFTER* it was shown what a criminal (and possibly traitor) she was.
Such donations Should be in public records no ?
I have found myself avoiding movies, tv shows and theaters with certain ‘pretenders’ aka actors, because all I want is to be entertained, not shamed or ridiculed because of my beliefs, politics and religion.
