"When "Mrs. Robinson" first hit the air waves in '68, it made no sense to me, and it still doesn't."

Hah...me neither! But, I was a raging hormonal teenager in high school, and I went just to see the "good parts" in the movie. As far as I'm concerned, the only good parts in the movie were the music, and of course...that classic line...

What annoyed me most about The Graduate were the scenes that were supposed to take place at the University of California at Berkeley but were actually filmed at the University of Southern California. The two campuses look considerably different. They could have set the scenes at USC or filmed them at Berkeley, but I figure the producers were lazy and figured that most of those watching the movie wouldn’t know the difference.

No it didn’t but for some odd reason everyone in roughly the 20-30 age bracket could relate to it...especially in Dustin Hoffman’s character. The late 60’s were exceedingly turbulent times with a lot of uncertainty, anxiety about the future and search for identity. Coming out of the wonderful 50’s a lot of young people were pretty unnerved by the turn of events. The domineering and oh so controlling parents did not help.
