Kylie Minogue has her sixth U.K. No. 1 album, and first for eight years, as Golden (BMG) enters in pole position. Drake has another chart-topping single in the territory, just three weeks after his last, as Nice For What (Cash Money/Republic/Universal) makes a winning debut.
Minogue's new album has combined first-week units of 48,000, according to the Official Charts Company, bettering each of her last three releases. She first topped the U.K. album chart with Kylie in August 1988, and most recently with Aphrodite in July 2010. 6,400 of the unit total for Golden came on vinyl, making it that format's fastest-selling album of 2018 to date.
TTIUWP....
Way back in the day, working in Saudi Arabia, we used to get the Aussie soap Neighbors on satellite TV. That's where I first came across Ms Minogue.
she looks fabulous and must be 50 by now!
I just posted a comment asking if she’s from Texas. :)
I just remember her from the dreadful remake of “The Locomotion” back in the 80s.
Heck, that song was dreadful even when Grand Funk Railroad did it.
That girl has a lot of teeth.
My wife is a journalist and interviewed Kylie Minogue three times over the years on the phone.
2003,
and she says Kylie is very sweet.
Wow, I bet that was an experience to meet Bowie.
Yes, especially because she was a real fan who used to stand outside his hotel.
FA Cup Semi’s been a cracker so far.
