It is definitely a False Squirrel. You can tell by the extra girth. They get that color shortly before they pop. Be careful ... they say the blood spatter when it pops can effect bystanders, causing a similar condition and similar result ... the good new is that the baby Chupacabra that results will be smallish. They grow fast.
