So We Lost a Battle Vanity
Me | Today | Me

Posted on 03/23/2018 11:27:02 AM PDT by waterhill

This is just a battle lost, not the war. Its gonna be ok. I am embarrassed for and of some of you FReepers. Rub some dirt on it and walk it off, go to the range, drink it off, cry in your pillows, whatever...

Quit whining. Quit acting like snowflakes. Or just opus-out and don't come back. Posers.

(Rant off)

It's more than losing a battle, it's like a front collapsed and revitalized the opposition going into the November election.

It's the Democrats who can go back to voters and say they are producing, not the Republicans.

I understand your sentiment, but I think there's also a good reason to be concerned.

One of the primary reasons Trump won was to take on this kind of foolishness from Congress.

This is a big change in direction and while I'm willing to give him a pass this time, we need to hold him to his word that he will not sign another one like this again.

Who's a snowflake? We got spit on and you attack others because we refuse to call it rain.

I was a Trump supporter when most in this forum where touting Cruz. I bought the first excuse because it was Obama's budget (sure). I bought the fact that Trump went to California and examined his prototypes of the walls. Well, a mere couple damn weeks later we have a full blown budget buster and those prototypes are explicitly written out of construction. Gimme a break!

Is Trump so caught up in North Korea and the special council that he allowed himself to be completely humiliated along with his followers? Well... Hell yes!

Lost the Battle of Midway.

Can’t just shrug that of.

But dare to criticize and you hear about 12th dimensional chess and get called a pearl clutcher. He signed a steaming pile of dog poop that made pelosi happy and the synchophants are making excuses for him.

Battle? No this was the War, and Trump just surrendered. I did not even realize he was French.

First off, you aren’t giving orders to anyone.

Second, sure a lot of folks are going to be torqued over this.

Calm down, Sally.

No, Trump controls the White House. The DC UniParty currently controls the House and Senate.

No, we need to draw a line and not forgive and forget. No Kool-Aid. Time to take these members of congress that voted for this and primary them. Screw their lies, the pleas that they are better than the Democrat. They are the Democrat, even worse, they lie and won’t admit it.

Yep. I want the swamp drained. The swamp won today, big time. The original poster said that we lost just one battle today. And that is correct. It’s just one battle. But Waterloo was also just one battle.

So is this Trump’s Waterloo? Most probably not. But morale is a big part of any army. And the Trump army took a big morale hit today. A few more hits like this one and some of that army will go wobbly.

Damnit! It is not a “Republican Controlled Congress”...it is the DC UniParty Controlled Congress!

It is up to us to correct this situation in the primaries and the general election this year!

Trump was ALWAYS going to have to battle the GOPe and the Dems... if you though otherwise, you were a fool.

Donald Trump has tried to be conciliatory toward two of the worst men in congress - McConnell and Ryan - while they have slow-walked him and stuck shivs in him on a regular basis. Congress essentially controls spending, and that happy bunch of oligarch-fellators presented DJT with this feces sandwich which was specially baked to override him.

I don't think he was too happy afterward despite whatever boilerplate he delivered. If I were him, as President I would scorch the earth, beginning with declassifying and releasing every bit of intelligence and background on the house and senate leaders of both parties. I don't have a beef with Trump, I have a beef with McConnell and Ryan, who have aided, if not orchestrated, about everything wrong with the current situation.

Trump got a few miles of fence and called it a start on the wall.

Like the Japanese losing their carriers but bragging about shooting down the US torpedo bombers.
