I carry a Glock 17!!! Well, Im a 1911 kind of guy. And, for concealed carry I often drop a Colt Pocket Lite in my pocket. Its a single/single same as a full size 1911. There are basically three types of actions when discussing semis. Theres single/single which means that if the hammer is down it must be manually cocked prior to firing the first shot. Then theres Double/single meaning on the first shot thehammer can be cocked and fired by pulling the trigger. Then, subsequent shots are single action trigger pull. Last is double/double which means all shots fired are by pulling trigger in double action mode. Theres pros and cons with each type. Ill make it quick, wish I hadnt started, the S/S usually has a light trigger pull of about 3~4lbs but requires most training of the three so to develop muscle memory to cock the hammer, flip the safety before firing first shot. D/S can fire first shot by simply pulling the trigger if safety is off but first trigger pull is often 7lbs or greater. Afterward, trigger pull is single action. D/D is third option meaning all shots fired are double action mode. While this is the most simple of the three its the least accurate being trigger pull is so stout. However, this is what LEOs are being forced to carry these days, mainly for safety for themselves. Well, I could have done better but i already fell like I wrote a term paper, lol 😝...
