Walmart needs to streamline their website somehow. The problem you mentioned and things don’t stay in your cart if you don’t complete purchase. That is nice on amazon.

I have not had problems with merchandise from Walmart but a few things from amazon were not quality I expected. On amazon you have to be careful the name brand is really from the manufacturer. Could be cheap stuff packaged to look legit. Also amazon sells refurbished items like fossil watches. Just need to watch wording. Brand replacement is one please to be aware.

I have noticed that the local Walmarts will often put things on clearance. Sometimes hardly reducing the price at all but also sometimes cutting the item to half of even as much as 90% off.

Today, I purchased two five quart jugs of Pennzoil full synthetic 5w-30 motor oil for $13 each.

The local Walmart Supercenter is OK on boxed or canned food, I guess they call them staples. On the other hand their produce and beef are really high. The beef is always choice but it often seems to be not that attractive. No marbling etc. which choice is supposed to have.

Amazon can be fairly demanding as far as manufacturer sites, I know they were with my former employer. If the product varies from retail on a manufacturer page rather than a reseller it’s likely unique merch in a desirable way, certainly no less than regular retail. But those pages aren’t as cheap as the retailers so depends on what you’re looking for I guess.

Amazon lost a lot of my business when they began collecting tax for items delivered to Alabama. With places like Best Buy meeting Amazon’s price it is quicker to get what you want and to be able to return it if something is defective. Also, Prime two day delivery has become a joke with half my orders never being delivered within two days. It now gets handed off by UPS or FedEx to the USPS which only guarantees it will either be lost or late. Also, Walmart’s Savings Checker Program lets you scan your receipt using your phone or tablet and it automatically checks local stores for lower prices for the items you purchased and placed the funds in account that you can use for online purchases ot request a gift card. I save an average of $2 to $3 every time I go to Walmart with it and it only takes a few seconds to do.

Amazon lost a lot of my business when they began collecting tax for items delivered to Alabama. With places like Best Buy meeting Amazon’s price it is quicker to get what you want and to be able to return it if something is defective.

As much as I dislike WorstBuy, the same thing happened here in Illinois when Amazon opened up a distribution center which meant they now had to collect sales tax in Illinois for having a "presence" in the state.

If I'm looking at something on Amazon and it's also available at WorstBuy, I go to WorstBuy. As you said, they match the price on the spot and I bring home what I want typically in less than an hour.

I also don't have to worry about something getting stolen off my front porch which is starting to happen in increasing frequency in my area. It's not that I live in a "bad" area, I live in an upper middle-class area and that's the problem: the thieves know it. They simply follow the FedEx / UPS Trucks around the neighborhood and steal everything left on the front porches.

If I can't have something delivered to my home without fear of it getting stolen and have to use an Amazon drop-point instead, what's the freaking point of Amazon Prime then?

Frustrating ....

My Walmart was handing out $10.00 off coupons for your first curbside grocery order.

I’m going to use it for dog food, paper towels and TP.....things I don’t like loading into the car.

Yes, Amazon has issues too, of a different sort.

At Walmart, the Hanes and Fruit of the Loom products are not as good as those sold elsewhere. It is obvious that the cloth is thinner and cheaper.

Over at Amazon, they have problems with phony tech products from third-party sellers. A lot of the “Apple” accessories, like chargers, are low-quality fakes.

“I’ve gotten some good deals ordering online from Walmart. No shipping charge for pickup at your nearest Walmart.”

indeed. walmart has the best price by far for the queen-sized buckwheat hull pillows:

Actually, a great many identical items of quite good quality are available from both. Granted that more pricey and specialty items are on Amazon, but, just pulling an example out of the air, both Amazon and Wal-Mart sell the Yamaha P45 digital piano (a very good product!) for $450. However, Amazon also offers the exact same package as an Amazon Exclusive, dubbed the Yamaha P71, for $400. OTOH, most of the “medical equipment” I’ve bought for my Mom - again, exact same items of quite acceptable quality - has been either cheaper or would arrive faster (for free shipping) from WM.

Wal-Mart’s site is poorer though, as noted in above comments, and has more garbage hanging on to slow one’s computer. Printouts of Invoices and such are also very poorly thought out / laid out. It is NOT that hard to create well laid out “web” Invoices with several items on one page, in nice, clear, decent font size print, but Wal-Mart (and many others) seem to have no clue regarding such things.

WalMart’s search engine is the worst I’ve ever used.

Agreed on that! Well, ok, there is the FR search engine...

I have had prices differ on Amazon depending on whether or not I was logged in... I believe they also look at one’s physical location (if not blocked), which can affect pricing.

I do not eat cereal. I eat mostly fresh fruits, meats/chicken, and vegetables...not processed. I cook daily.
Any more questions, about why I want to examine my products instead of have them shipped?

No paranoia...just healthy choices.

My Prime is up next month and I’m thinking of dropping it, too.

I would also mention, Walmart has the best customer service of any store. I once needed a business related receipt from a purchase 4 months earlier. I called about it and they said give them an hour and they would call back. In about 30 minutes they retrieved and printed me a copy. Walmart also has the cheapest prescription drugs of any sort, even veterinary prescription drugs. And, Walmart takes returns on non perishable items for either 60 or 90 days. No other vendor comes close.

Amazon has failed to back a couple of faulty products. I dropped them more than a year ago. Jeff Bezos is a rat party, Obama supporting, criminal and he owns the WaPo wrap of leftist lies.

You are cheating your local community while building the Bezos leftist empire. Sometimes doing the right thing Trumps a few dollars.
