If this letter was copied and pasted, someone should have proof read for grammatical and/or spelling errors. Otherwise, good points.

Without any doubt, this kid has the right to speak out.

Also without any doubt, so do people who disagree with him.

The marketplace of ideas - over which the news media in all of its facets is SUPPOSED TO BE a neutral arbiter (except when a particular person, station or publication wishes to let the world know his/her/its opinion - which should be EXPLICITLY labeled as such) - should allow for any and all viewpoints to be listened to, and then processed for both factual accuracy and logical consistency. Regrettably, tragically, the news media has utterly failed in this regard, and is engaged in a highly partisan and highly deceptive campaign to convince people to support gun control/gun confiscation.

WRT this kid, what little I've seen of, and heard from, him shows that he is rather typical of most teenagers - which is to say that he lacks knowledge, experience and good judgment. To quote one opinion-maker that I heard last night: "Most teenaged girls are more concerned with keeping up a Snapchat streak; and most teenaged boys would, if given the opportunity, binge for days on Doritos and some Fast and Furious video game. I'm not about to let people of that caliber determine my civil rights, nor those of anyone else - because they are just not ready for it, not intellectually and not emotionally."

I'll give anyone reading this MY opinion: I'm not letting the cry-baby snowflakes of the Tide Pod generation decide ANYTHING for me, let alone something as important as my 2nd Amendment rights.

As for the "debate" on gun control (or, more accurately, the ignorant blatherings of a bunch of immature kids, name-calling all those who disagree with them), here are my thoughts:

Good letter.

The power of the NRA is NOT in money that it gives to candidates, causes, or political power.

It is the power of 5-6 million passionate voters to whom the anger of having their rights trampled on, diminished, or outright denied, far, FAR outweighs the “joy” leftists get at foisting their statist desires and schemes on the rest of us.

And NRA members vote and are vocal. In small elections and primaries where a thousand votes can make a the difference, NRA members as an ostensible single issue voting block can be counted on.

That is where the power of the NRA is.

Unfortunately, the 5 Million plus Members of the NRA, and I’m one of them, are outnumbered by the number of Illegal Invaders who Vote (with the blessings of the DemoncRat Party).

I wish this was given as a speech. I think that some of the shows on FOXNEWS, like the Ingraham Angle or Hannity would like this Retired USN Veteran to come on the show. Otherwise it just will be seen by us and not the General USA public.

Sorry if I didn't correct my spelling errors. Getting close to my afternoon break.

That is true, but they don’t vote with the reliability of the NRA members I would guess.

But, yes. It is a hard thing, that whole concept of someone such as many of us are, who look at issues, research them, discuss them, argue about them, and generally expend time and energy trying to make sure we make the right choice, only to have that vote cancelled out by a brainless moron (and often, a moron who cannot speak the language and knows nothing of any issues at all).

That IS discouraging.

You assume to false premises. First that Attention Hogg can read. And Second that he can comprehend.

He is a public school student.

I’m a full-fledged grammar nazi. The deterioration of grammar, punctuality, and spelling is downright alarming. On Tucker Carlson two nights ago one of their “screen bullets” read “warrents” instead of “warrants.” And it’s everywhere. I’ve been told that grammar has all but been eliminated from school curricula a)because it’s insulting to teach African-American youth “white English,” and b) it takes away precious class time better devoted to liberal indoctrination on matters like climate change, immigration,Trump bashing, gun control, trashing our Founders, our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and, of course, racism.

President Trump and patriots everywhere must begin a nationwide campaign to “Take Your Kids Out of Public School.” Our public schools are nothing but a form of legalized, institutionalized child abuse.

Not to nit pick, but punctuality has to do with being on time. Punctuation is grammar related. Then again, a significant number of people are usually running late, so you're right. :)
