Even if he said it, which has not been corroborated, is it worth selling out the country over? Don’t his actions outweigh any objectionable rhetoric? Think about what’s at stake.
I don’t think their regret is due to one comment like the most recent comment, but it was straw that broke the camel’s back.

My wife told me that she (a more ardent Trump supporter than even I was during the campaign) hopes that Trump does not win re-election, her hope is that some other Republican wins the nomination. So I do know Trump has lost some real support. She and I get into arguments over him these days. Call her what you want, but the fact is, he is losing support.
I can't imagine a single Trump voter (and if they're honest, at least half of Hillary's voters) who believe that the path to making America great again requires importing more Haitians and Somalis.
I agree with President Trump - most of those countries ARE shithole countries: Haiti, Ecuador, San Salvador, Pakistan, Somalia, people coming here to take advantage of the freebies offered by Democraps, in exchange for votes.

I’ve spent a bit of time reflecting on the state of the Presidency...
Regardless of where one stands, there has been a general coarsening of the culture and Trump reflects this.
Is that necessarily a bad thing? The notion of elevating the President and his presidency out of a sense of decorum, means both the left and right will use the argument: we need to be careful in how we critique the President out of a respect for the office.
That’s ridiculous, we don’t hold that view for any other public office, and while I was perhaps a bit offended by some of his statements while President, I have gotten over it.
I suspect, the public at large will too.
