Great. We paid for them the first time around, now we have to pay for the sloppy seconds too ?

There was a thread here already on this. Where I believe a few people threw daggers at me for my unwillingness to pay gunstore prices for these 1911s. Also my halcyon memories of what the CMP used to be.

The CMP is still, and is supposed to be, Congress’ way to do their part in the second amendment. But I guess that whole plan is vapor now too.

Navy dumped them in the 90’s for the Beretta 9. 6 pack of 1911s for a hundred bucks back in the day...end up with 2 working well out of the parts with lots of spares. Never could get the big white numbers off the grips tho... ;)

Gun store prices for them now? I’ll pass.

I saw one,years ago, that had been run through a de-mill press. It was horrible! I wanted to cry. So did every one else who saw the results.

Yeah, those guns are flat shot out. CMP will refurbish them somewhat, but they won't be nearly as pristine as similarly priced current manufacture 1911s.

Now, if they had just made the M14 available......
