I shoot a Uberti version in 38-40 for CAS. It is smooth, fast, accurate, and trouble-free. Can’t get much better than that. My Browning 1892 version (also in 38-40) is not nearly as smooth or fast.
Watching some of the better shooters run their rifles at End of Trail is quite the sight, especially in the speed rifle side match. I think Deuce Stevens can empty his Marlin 1894 in a good bit less than 2 seconds.
Me? The TO can go get lunch while I’m shooting.
