Celebrating its sixth year, Halloween ComicFest is an annual event where participating local comic shops across North America and beyond celebrate the Halloween season by giving away free comics to fans. The event takes place the Saturday on or before Halloween each year (October 28th, 2017) and is the perfect opportunity to introduce friends and family to the many reasons why comics and comic shops are great! Comic shops are the perfect location to get into the spooktacular season: from zombies, vampires, monsters, and aliens to costumes and more, comic shops have it all when it comes to Halloween fun!
The Netflix original series Stranger Things 2 is partnering with Halloween ComicFest 2017 bringing participants in-store activations, branded merchandise and more.
Major publishers like DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics, and IDW Publishing put out free comics for fans to enjoy during Halloween. Also available are all-ages mini-comics, perfect to give out to trick-or-treaters or as party favors to inspire the next generation of comics readers!

What many people do not realize is there are numerous small businesses across the country run by men and women who have chosen to make a living selling reading entertainment and pop culture merchandise. These people have opened businesses to share their passion for comic reading product and to sell fun to like-minded patrons. Your local comic shop owner is not on welfare and in the majority of cases they are job creators. They are hard-working people that make a living at what they love and have taken on all the risks of being their own boss and running their own business.
Halloween Comicfest is a chance for these small business owners to showcase their stores and share comic entertainment with the public. The Halloween Comicfest books are not free to the owners but shopowners give them out free to the public in hopes of creating new customers and establishing their businesses as someplace fun and safe for families and all people in their community.
I have nothing but respect for the men and women who make their living selling comics and pop culture. There are some spectacular businesses across our nation and there is something for everyone of every age and taste to find entertaining.
Today is great day to have fun at your local comic shop.
My wife, child and I went today and scored some free comics (Hellboy, Batman, The Tick, etc). I also bought two (Batman: The Red Death and Batman Vol 3 #33).
I ran in and started grabbing comics but one of the three shop people (was about 8 customers) said there was a limit but then my wife and kid came in the door and they let me take what I wanted. I literally ran in there and started gabbing - LoL!
If anyone happens to be in Berlin I can highly recommend "Black Dog Comics" shop. They sell English language comics. Might not be first prints but you can find anything current. Like you said, the owner is there a lot and this guy really is Super. Soft spoken and highly intelligent sounding. A couple of times I faked looking at comics just to listen in on his comic book related conversations with people. He really knows his stuff!
My daughter was dressed as a witch. After we went to the mall and she got a free face-paint. I left though because there were 10 kids in front of her and I wanted to watch soccer.
Got home and saw I missed the delivery of Pixel 2 smartphone that we are going to do a review on (it will be delivered again).
Yes I will sacrifice delivery of the newest smartphone for free comics LoL!
Halloween candy with strawberry jam filling.
There was very strong gusts of wind today. Hard to take a proper cape and hat photo.
