As British talk show host Graham Norton noted, it was almost Shakespearean that former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton attended her opponents inauguration.
Nodding in agreement with the host, Clinton said she wasnt too interested in attending herself.
I really tried to get out of going, Clinton said in a Friday episode of Nortons BBC show.
As per tradition, Clinton attended the inauguration with her husband, former President Bill Clinton to show support [for the] continuity of our government.
Nevertheless, she and Bill thought up a potential out.
We thought, Okay, maybe others arent going,' she told the host. So we called the Bushes and the elder Bushes were in the hospital, which I think was legitimate.
But once they found out the Bushes and the Carters were attending, she knew the ruse was up.
Bill and I looked at each other and said, Well, we gotta go,' Clinton said.
Watch her discuss attending her former rivals inauguration below, via BBC.
Bitch.
I would imagine President Trump tried to get out of having you there as well.
And Trump actually GOT out of going to yours, Hillary
Difference between trying and doing
Maga
Hillary is a Shakespearean tragedy.
Thank God Trump didnt have to face the choice of attending HRCs inauguration.
But on the bright side, she did get out of going as the main attraction.
Hill and Bill could have flown to San Francisco in mid-January and jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge.
That would have been a legitimate excuse for the two of them not going to the inauguration.
I learned from this article that the Clintons are comfortable enough to speak with Bushs about casual social issues and that the Bushs dislike Trump as much as the Clintons. Good to know.
I reckon you forgot to add < /sarcasm>
I look forward to the clinton funerals, the sooner the better.
Probably took half a bottle of vodka to get her there.
I’m sure Trump looks forward to witnessing your execution.
Sore loser, and proud of it to boot.
The woman who was a whisker away from being the most powerful human on the planet needed to find an excuse to NOT attend the inauguration? The fact that she didn’t have the balls to simply say “I’m not going” alone means she was not qualified for the office.
I really wish she had declined to attend the inauguration. Then we wouldn’t have been subjected to seeing the angry and hostile glares from her ugly face.
Probably rival Charlie Sheen’s character’s wake in Two and a Half Men.
Hillary even lies about this! LOL she “tried” as much as she tried campaigning.
If she really “tried not to go”, she would have not attended no matter what.
Because she had to sober up.
Also, because she had to sit with Bill.
It’s called “weaseling” - and for a good reason.....
