Thomas Friedman Mesmerized at Speed of Trump's Curve Balls: Striking Out Obama's Legacy
Gotham City Slimes ^ | 10/18/2017 | Thomas "my-brain-is-Fried" man

Posted on 10/18/2017 12:39:33 PM PDT by poconopundit

I'm sure Thomas "My-Brain-is-Fried" Man went to college.  He has a fine command of English sentence construction, yet his brain was not designed to comprehend a multi-front attack.

Leftist journalists employed at the major newspapers yearn for the good-ole-days when politics moved at a much slower pace.  The world of digital news and Twitter is not comfortable for them because they need time to think.

Friedman's recent column proves he is totally unhinged by how fast Trump is governing and making changes.  To hear him describe his shock and bewilderment is just delicious. I paraphrase:

"Trump is unraveling so many longstanding policies and institutions at once — Nafta, Obamacare, global climate accord, domestic clean power initiative, Pacific trade deal, Iran nuclear deal — without any real preparation either on the day before or for the morning after."

Translation: Trump is moving so fast on so many fronts that my mind can't keep up.  It's not fair.  He needs to slow down and give we journalist batters a chance to "prepare".  And he needs to wind up his pitches more slowly.  And he shouldn't deliver his new policies rapid fire.  How do you expect we journalists to catch up?  Why, there's just no time for us to do a proper job of collaborating with the other MSM outlets to deliver a consistent Fake News story line.

Bring on the hot dogs and popcorn, my FRiends!

That looks like Fenway Park, some years ago. Jimmy Fund, perhaps? When was Trump at Fenway Park?

Nice job. We don’t often see tables used in a post.

Other than NAFTA, name one of those that predates Obama.

Excellent observation. I’m originally from Mass. and I know that Stop & Shop is a local grocery store there.

In fact, it looks like Jimmy Fund are the words on the jersey.

Thanks. It’s fun to stick a picture on the side of the text with an HTML table. To make the image and text the same length I adjust the width of the picture.

But in the opener, you need to keep the text on the left side and the picture in the right. Otherwise your first paragraph or two is not picked up by the automated FR index creator.

"Trump is unraveling so many longstanding policies and institutions at once — Nafta, Obamacare, global climate accord, domestic clean power initiative, Pacific trade deal, Iran nuclear deal — without any real preparation either on the day before or for the morning after."

What utter BS. He's had since at least election day last November and really, a year before that because he campaigned on getting rid of this Obama crap. Not to mention these are not "longstanding policies"; they're mostly Obama BS.

You’re absolutely right. If they were organized, they would have prepared for all these cases way in advance because Trump was so transparent on what he intended to do....

Trump is used to handling a large number of complicated business deals at the same time.

Yeah, but isn’t it a shame that Trump is “unqualified” to be President? Bwahaha!

I know...”longstanding”, as if a few years ago was “time honored tradition”. With like 2 of those listed actually being laws passed by Congress.

I could have told Friedman that Trump would do things along these lines - because he is a hugely (YUUUUUUGELY) successful businessman who is accustomed to doing many things quickly, because his own money is at stake, ALWAYS. He isn’t going to change how he operates, just because he has a new job.

Of course, the whole concept of one’s own money at stake is rather alien to a Leftist idiot like Friedman, so I didn’t expect different from him, either.

Looking forward to more of the same: WINNING plus Leftist heads exploding = MAGA!

Dismantling the academic morons. Keeping he baseball analogy, academics is full of people who can't hit a fastball, can't hit a curveball, aren't savvy enough to guess when a change up is coming, and are so incompetent in the field such that you might as well field traffic cones in their place. Yet, they think they are Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Brooks Robinson, Frank Thomas, David Oritiz, Nolan Ryan, Reggie Jackson, Ozzie Smith, Derek Jeter, etc. etc. all rolled into one. It's delusion at its most grandest.
