And if the company’s hotline is to be believed, the NFL has something to be concerned about.

When customers call the number, 1-800-342-5283, they are greeted by a recording which gives, as its first option, a chance for anyone for or against the player protests to voice their opinions.

“If you are calling with questions or comments about Anheuser-Busch’s sponsorship of the NFL, press one,” the recorded voice says.

"Should Budweiser keep sponsoring the NFL? Let them know how you feel! Call 1-800-DIAL BUD (342-5283) and press 1 for their stand on the NFL and then leave a message. Takes less than a minute."

The NFL can burn, and take all their sponsors with them. How about them apples?

Press “1” to be transferred to the “You think we want your opinion so you think we care” line.

Some consultant told Budweiser to set up this 800 line, so their customers can “vent”. They better hire another consultant to tell them what to do with all the unsold beer.

Budweiser has never sold real beer. Fizzy alcohol water, perhaps; beer, no way.

Not sure if this is true but someone on reddit posted that they were using these calls to collect info.

They know public opinion. This is just optics.

Actual internal numbers will be overwhelminly against it. AB will report that people supported the players and they are pround to remain an NFL sponser. The narrative is the narrative, truth is relative.

I think EVERY corporate sponsor of the NFL may be doing this very soon. Hyundai/Kia may stop being an NFL sponsor, especially given Hyundai's importance of the US market (Hyundai's new Kona small SUV arrives in the US market early in 2018 as a 2019 model).

This is just a way for them to stop people from talking about the situation on social media.

You are probably right but I called anyhow. Budweiser does employ a lot of veterans. Just a voice in the wilderness but I hope that if enough people call Bud might get the message that its own image is being harmed by this fiasco. That is the only thing they really care about. That and how their top line may be impacted by declining sales.

***************

Bud’s PR staff will craft a statement that is so politically slick you’ll never know what side of the fence they are on. What it will stress is the “greatness of this storied American company and its traditional support for American values”. And, as its webside proclaims “When we can bring the community together to make a positive change, we all succeed.”

It will be a masterpiece of spin.

If Budweiser can’t figure this out based on the available evidence, then they don’t deserve ANY sales at all.
