Fewer and fewer people are tuning in. I remember when people used to care who won the Oscars, who won what music award, who won the Olympics, and I remember people talking about it days before and days after. I may be out of the loop, I’m sure I am, but I don’t remember anyone talking about any of this stuff for years now.

They keep pushing, no one will give a flip who won the Super Bowl. Their $18 million dollar salaries are not guaranteed in the Constitution. They are only guaranteed if people care enough to tune in. I have a feeling people are tuning out all over America.

When the attitude you just described hits The Rose Bowl or The Super Bowl, that’s when we will all know a turning point in culture has been reached. Think of a Rose Bowl parade where there are 3 x’s as many people in the parade vs skimpy crowds watching it live. Will they still be blaming Trump or maybe The Russians for that too?

Hubby turned on the game as he does most weekends. Then he turned it off and took his aggravation to his fb. He’s finally on the boycott train.

I haven’t watched the Super Bowl in the years since the Giants last won it, and I won’t watch again until they’re in it (which isn’t likely this year). The US is divided along many faultlines, but among the clearest is that between those who center their lives around TV and those who don’t.

If you ever have a weekday off of work and turn on the TV, you realize that people working 9-5 CAN’T have anything in common with people that watch this garbage while we’re all out working. I can relate to someone who doesn’t work for one reason or another; I can’t relate to them at all if they spend the workday watching daytime TV.
