How convenient indeed...a fire (insured) breaks out right before a massive flood (uninsured) would destroy the home.
No money out of his pocket except for some photographs (digital format stored I’m sure) and notebooks.
New home on the insurance company dime. Hard time for an insurance adjuster to prove it not true considering everything is demolished.

I post on a recreation board on FB and was so p!ssed off when someone said they hoped Irma destroyed Mara Largo, with Trump in it. I would never think of posting that about ANYONE, even zero. Liberalism is truly a mental disorder.

Branson has the financial resources to build it all back again. He can build it 100 times more if he has to and still be a very rich man.
If I was in a similar situation, I'd probably ride the storm out too. He likely had a reinforced bunker that would withstand just about anything. For him, this whole deal was more adventure than survival.

The implication is that this rich twit will be sipping fine vintage wine while the ordinary “belongers” who live in the islands will be fighting to survive.

Gas lines ripped loose enough to fill a low area with gas, likely propane. All it needs is a source of ignition. Not too uncommon during these storms.
