“White nationalists” - hah, the people who organized this (a Free Speech protest) are mostly just political conservatives, many of them academics, who are protesting the suppression of speech and the declaration of thought-crimes at universities, something that has happened a lot in the Boston area because of its large number of universities.
But nowadays, somehow the press has morphed them into “white nationalists.” Not saying some “white nationalists,” a description that I haven’t even seen until very recently, won’t show up, but what is far more worrying is the presence of the very same leftist forces whose attacks led to the need for the rally in the first place.
Agreed. There will be bloodshed and they are trying to blame it on President Trump.

actually hoping for a mess..the current owner wants to change Yawkey Way into a more politically correct name because the red sux were the last mlb team to employ a black player...chaos couldn’t happen to a better team city, and state...home of Pocahontas (Warren) .....especially after the racist taunting experienced by some Baltimore players earlier this season....Red Sox have changed their ways but their history on blacks is not the greatest...plan on buying some extra popcorn today for the show....
The racial taunting incident was a single drunk fan, who probably ruined his life, and has been banned from Fenway Park for life. Adam Jones was having a good series against the Sox, with both the bat and the glove. A lot of fans wanted him to pull a muscle, but recover in time to play the Yankees. Me included.
When Jones came up to bat the next day, he got a standing O from the crowd.

I worry about those who work in Boston on Saturdays (especially a family member) not far from this as well as tourists who won’t be able to safely visit spots they might want to see. Not sure if there is anything on the Common they might decide to tear down. Hope they remember George Washington was born into slave-ownership, he didn’t create the system, and when he died he freed those slaves that he legally could free. He couldn’t free Martha’s as they were legally owned by dowager right and belonged to her husband’s heirs after her death. I also hope they remember that our national anthem is about surviving a battle, surviving war not about waging war. I read yesterday a group was going to demand the the Star Spangled Banner be declared hate speech.

Uh, actually that’s the rub. Almost NEVER is there a protest/rally planned by “right-wingers” anyway.
Leftists just feel the need to “protest” (burn, loot, vandalize, beat, kill) in general. They don’t COUNTER-protest as a rule, and for as many times as they set out, no one COUNTER-protests them either.
That’s the thing. We still don’t really know what happened in Charlottesville. We don’t know how violent the “right-wing” would’ve been ON ITS OWN, as the leftists prove endlessly, because leftists came out in force to “counter” them.
