John Lott has documented that more black people and women are getting concealed carry permits than ever before. A majority of Black Americans now see firearms ownership as a positive. “I don’t think there’s a black gun culture or white gun culture, I think there’s an informed gun culture and an ignorant gun culture," Toure said.
Women are largely fueling the increase. Among the eight states that had data from 2012-16, permits for men grew by 22% and permits for women soared by 93%. In the 14 states with 2016 data on sex, women now make up 36% of permit holders.Black people, especially black women, are realizing the right to bear arms is a right that has been taken from them. That realization is making draconian gun control impossible to pass.
Over those same years, the number of blacks with permits increased 30% faster than the number of whites with permits. Blacks now make up 11% of permit holders. A few states provide a breakdown for Asian-Americans, and in those states they accounted for the largest percentage increase in permits.
The Black Guns Matter mission is to educate urban communities on their 2nd amendment rights and responsibilities through firearm training and education.Those pushing for a disarmed population depend on blacks and women as core supportive groups. They are losing that support.
I own guns and am a firearms instructor, but want nothing to do with the gun culture and will continue to focus on civil rights and training.

As Americans, skin color does not matter. Some bad people want it to matter, but it does not matter in the logical makeup of America.
Be honest and above all else, intend no harm to innocent people.
They are already there. They are called thugs. It’s the reason so many other folks are IN the gun culture, for self defense.
We want them OUT of gun culture. I don’t want them to know how to use guns better.

Excellent idea. Just wondering....Where did you grow up? Don’t get me wrong.....Inner city minority youth have all the prerequisites to become responsible 2nd amendment advocates. They tend to be law abiding, very responsible, and have great respect for authority ( The Rangemaster, Laws, etc.). Good luck. And BTW, are you a Democrat?

I know that not all inner city ghetto kids are gang bangers - that's why I was there.
Still not enthusiastic about teaching them marksmanship because they have a lot more important things to learn to get out of the ghetto.
My oldest boy is in the Army National Guard, and my youngest boy is a Marine. I thought both of them to shoot when I felt they were mature enough to handle the responsibility of handling a fire arm. I also thought my daughter how to shoot, and we had a lot of fun going to the range. I started them shooting with a red rider bb rifle, which is a very accurate bb rifle. My granddaughters will be getting each a pink red rider bb rifle for next Christmas. When my grandson is older I’ll get him a Daisey buck to teach him gun safety. plinking is a great way for a family to have some quality fun together. I was very fortunate to learn marksmanship from CSM Harper, and I am a US Army expert, and NRA Sharpshooter with only one bar. I also like to bring anti gun friends to the range, and have turned several of them into gun owners. Teach your family to shoot firearms, and have some fun.
Armed people are citizens. Disarmed people are subjects. That distinction is critical to understanding that, in this country, the real power resides with The People, and not the political or bureaucratic elite.
Teaching gun safety and marksmanship to ALL American kids is central to imbuing that sense of God given rights and liberty within them, no matter their race or cultural status.

Very idealistic, and very true theoretically. However at some point reality sets in and screws everything up. How bout we wait for some of the other central elements of “imbuing that sense of God given rights and liberty within them” to take effect before they are recruited into the 2nd amendment cause. Some of those PREREQUISITES I’d suggest FIRST are being raised by a responsible Mother AND Father, learning respect for themselves and others, respect for the law and authority in their lives such as their Teachers and the Police, and perhaps most important, a strong sense of personal responsibility. Perhaps THEN they would be great recruits in the 2nd Amendment battle. If recruited now, the near universal image will be “Thugs and Criminals Rapping for the 2nd Amendment”. Think that will help the cause?
Maybe you’re right. We blacks are really just rappers, thugs, and baby mamas at heart, who don’t deserve to fully exercise our God given rights as Americans.
Prolly best if we stick to collecting welfare and fighting over Air Jordans down in the hood, and leave the fuller aspects of citizenship to the white folks. /s
